We are excited to announce the release of the Cisco ThousandEyes App for Splunk Enterprise and Splunk Cloud Platform, which are now available for download and installation via Splunkbase. This integration enables our customers to help assure their users’ digital experiences by bringing ThousandEyes insights directly into Splunk dashboards.

Feature Highlights:

  • Seamless Integration: Easily connect your ThousandEyes account to the ThousandEyes App for Splunk through an interactive login. This securely transfers the ThousandEyes API token into Splunk using an OAuth 2.0.

  • Customizable Data Inputs: Configure your data inputs to include streaming test data, events from Event Detection, and ThousandEyes Activity Log entries. This allows for comprehensive monitoring and troubleshooting capabilities within your Splunk environment.

  • Built-in Dashboards: Take advantage of pre-configured dashboards for Application, Network, Voice, and Events from ThousandEyes Event Detection, as well as the ThousandEyes Activity Log. These visualizations provide actionable intelligence to assure your users’ experience.

Here is a quick tutorial for setting up the Cisco ThousandEyes App for Splunk:

  1. In Splunk Base, search for "Cisco ThousandEyes App for Splunk."

  2. Install "Cisco ThousandEyes App for Splunk" and open the configuration page.

  3. In the ThousandEyes User tab, start from the "Add" option to link your ThousandEyes account.

  4. Follow the screen prompt, authorize your access, log in with your credentials, and provide the consent.

  5. Click "Add" to complete the configuration.

  6. From the Inputs page, choose "Create New Input."

  7. Select input type from Tests Stream, Event, or Activity.

  8. Follow the dialog and select the scope of the inputs.

  9. Built-in applications, network, and voice dashboards are available for visualizing test data from ThousandEyes.

  10. The Events dashboard shows Event Detection, and the Activity Logs dashboard shows log entries from the ThousandEyes Activity Log.
